Hi, I'm Catherine, Owner of Alohi Gold Apparel,

My story got started when my husband was injured on the job 10 years ago. Our lives were changed forever when he was pushed into early retirement. Having been married at the ripe old age of 18 and choosing the career of stay at home mom, I didn't have any formal education. I was good at cleaning though, so I went to work cleaning as many homes as I physically could! Knowing that my body wouldn't hold out forever I kept searching for what God thought my new life purpose was. After much thought, prayer and many attempts, I felt moved to open a boutique. I didn't know the first thing about it! So, I googled and read and watched video after video for hours and hours trying to train myself for this new adventure. I felt so strongly that this is what I was meant to do, so I forged on.
At the time My family was blessed to travel to Hawaii a couple of times a year since my daughter moved to Maui in 2008.
I find inspiration from that place,
first from the amazing Hawaiian people and their beautiful language and culture,
next to the sapphire blue ocean waters and all the creatures within,
onto the velvet green covered mountains and the glorious wonders hidden throughout.
It feeds my soul,
but my true inspiration is all of the beautiful women that I meet and get to know around the world. They go about their days serving, and making changes that bless the lives of everyone around them!
Alohi (ah-LO-hee) means, Brilliant in Hawaiian. YOU are brilliant! Share your brilliance with all the world.
This has been my favorite Bible verse since I could read,
Matt 5:15-16
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven
